three minute fiction

The first story i read,"the gym",was a fantastic story in which both the character and the set were described very well. the author used vivid imagery and good vocab to paint a picture for the reader to imagine. i had no problem following and getting involved in this story. http://www.npr.org/2011/11/02/141941157/the-gym the second story i read, "honor",does an amazing job of putting the reader into the mind of the main character. her emotions, day dreams, and confusions were very clear and brought the reader closer to the story. very good imagery and use of action instead of words. http://www.npr.org/2011/10/15/141376273/honor the third story i read, "lesson in mathematics", was good but needed a lot of work. its imagery was poor and did not paint an emotional picture i could follow or relate with. when the author described how his girlfriend left him, it was just hollow words, not a powerful emotional image. http://www.npr.org/2011/11/10/142225792/lesson-in-mathematics

Binoculars Starting with the elegant yet classic grill, flanked by the brilliant headlights that shine like water in a noonday sun, to finish off the front end, an air splitter to create down force on the front tires, eliminating all screeches of under steer. The hood has the sharp and aggressive lines, the air ram intakes for the two turbo charges; pure beauty. Casing the custom wheels and racing tires are the signature flared wheel arches, the strong handsome cheekbones of the car. Going farther back, the carbon fiber roof brings the aggressive racing feel to a luxury car, whilst dropping the wait to make it more effective in the corners and off the line. The sharp spoiler on the back ends the smooth flow of the car, but this is not enough. Neither too small or too big, there is a racing spoiler attached, to create down force on the rear wheels that make the car flawless in the corners yet still allowing the adrenaline rush of a brilliant power slide. A few custom unseen touches added on to make this car perfect: carbon ceramic brakes, magnetic ride suspension, and a limited slip differential. The brakes glow red hot as you brake hard into the corner, late braking into corners increases your lap time. The magnetic ride suspension flows with current, creating a soft ride for the city and a hard, aggressive ride for the track, keeping your cornering level. And the limited slip differential to keep the beautiful power slides under control. This is my dream car. It is high performance, yet elegant and luxurious. It is the BMW M3.
